Due to snow on roads, first day of play at the triple-A boys North Island Basketball Tournament at Isfeld Secondary has been postponed until Friday.
Ballenas and Barsby square off in the first game at 5:30 p.m. Carrie and Wellington play at 7:15 p.m.
On Saturday, Vanier will play the winner of game one at 2 p.m. The host Isfeld Ice will face the winner of Friday’s second game at 3:45 p.m. Saturday.
The final is 2 p.m. Sunday.
The top four teams advance to the Island Championship, Feb. 21-23 at Barsby Secondary in Nanaimo.
For the first time, coaches have selected an all-conference first and second team for the North Island. Thaskani Mtawali and Aidan McDonald of Isfeld are on the first team, as are Peter Greaves and Jakob Tortorelli of Vanier. Temwa Mtawali of Isfeld is a second-team selection.
