Try wheelchair lacrosse at upcoming Cloverdale event

Anyone 10 years of age and older welcome to give wheelchair lacrosse a try

BC Lacrosse and the City of Surrey have teamed up to host a try-it session for Canada’s national summer sport — on wheels.

The Cloverdale Recreation Centre will host a wheelchair lacrosse drop-in session on Thursday, Jan. 10.

The drop-in sessions allow anyone 10 years of age or older to try wheelchair lacrosse at no cost, no matter their skill level. Able-bodied participants are welcome.

Basic wheelchair and lacrosse skills will be covered at the session, and the drop-in will end in a scrimmage.

Each participant will need a wheelchair, and a hockey helmet with a face mask. Chairs and helmets will be available, if needed, and lacrosse equipment will be supplied.

The free event will take place on Thursday, Jan. 10, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Cloverdale Recreation Centre (6188 176 Street).
