Turn-Key Controls shut down Peters Tirecraft 2-0 in North Okanagan Soccer League season-opening play Wednesday night at Mac Park.

Both teams battling some rough conditions at Macdonald Park that led to some back and forth play early on.

Turn-Key opened the scoring early on a free kick from Taylor Horsting that took a strange bounce on Tony the keeper and found its way into the back of the net.

Turn-Key held the majority of chances in the first half and newcomer Kanwar Pandher tapped home an Evan Moore corner before the half.

Both teams pressed hard in the second half, with Preston Tucker twice hitting the post off Moore corners. Nathan Gatenby narrowly missed when his screamer from 20 yards out also found the crossbar. Gregg Douma earned the Total Restoration Clean Sheet in the Turn-Key net.

Midfielder Christian Demillville was the Longhorn Man of the Match for Tirecraft, who got bold showings on the back line from Clark Richardson, Justin Mitchell and Kyle Richardson.

Defending playoff champion North Enderby Timber ambushed Monashee Surveying 11-0 in the other season opener.

Salmon Arm Courvas, who won the league title last year, stuffed the Salmon Arm Outlaws 6-1 at Blackburn Park.
