Twisters gymnasts excel at Surrey Invitational

Athletes from Abbotsford’s Twisters Gymnastics Club made a massive medal haul at the Surrey Gymnastics Invitational.

Athletes from Abbotsford’s Twisters Gymnastics Club made a massive medal haul at the Surrey Gymnastics Invitational. All told, the locals registered 53 podium finishes, highlighted by 11 all-around medals. On the boys’ side, all-around medallists included Jonathan Osers (silver, national open), Steven Chaplin (silver, national youth), Zachary Clay (bronze, national junior), Elijah Horner (gold, level 3 under-13), Jeremy Gaspar (bronze, level 3 under-13), Brogan Neufeld (gold, level 1), D.J. Tarbaj (silver, level 1) and Cole Chalifoux (silver, level 1). Chaplin, Osers and Clay also qualified for nationals. On the girls side, Ashlynn Skulstad (silver, national novice), Shayla Ogloff (gold, provincial 5 tyro) and Emily Moorthy (silver, level 3 tyro) won all-around medals. Skulstad, Ogloff and Marquita Morrison have qualified for the Western Canadian Championships.
