The world ringette championships go Dec. 27, 2015 to Jan. 4, 2016 in Helsinki, Finland, and there is a fundraiser this Sunday, Nov. 22 to help two Comox Valley athletes get there.

Haley Hill and Helen Oliphant are going to Helsinki and must pay their way, so they are holding a beer and burger night fundraiser at Chances (361 Hunt Rd., Courtenay).

Supporters are invited to drop by (starting at 5:30 p.m.) to meet the players. Tickets are $25 and available in advance from Hill (250-334-6632) and at the door.

Those who can’t make it to Chances can help by going to the Go Fund Me website and search for Haley Hill.

 

Hill and Oliphant leave for Finland on Dec. 23.
