Nine players from the India Field Hockey Club (IFHC) did double duty at two recent tournaments, leading two teams from the small, Surrey-based group to a pair of provincial championships.
Cailean Meridith, Cassidy Bremner, Justina Johl, Jasmeen Dhaliwal, Keesha Khehra, Amy Dhillon, Amber Sandhu, Monika Bains and Baldeesh Dhillon were part of the (IFHC) team which placed second at the Under-16 Field Hockey BC Club Championship tournament June 2-3 in Vancouver.
The nine players are all between 13-15 years of age.
India Field Hockey outscored the opposition 20-1 in five games, clinching the provincial title with a 2-1 win over Tri-Cities.
Simrin Dhillon, Manpreet Randhawa, Hannah Tvak, Harvir Bagri, Harpreet Janda, Jivana Basra and Armaani Sahota were other members of the under-16 team.
The provincial championship came a week after the under-18 team wrapped up their title in Tsawwassen, shutting out all five opponents while scoring 24 goals.
In addition to the nine players who played on both teams, the under-18 group was joined by Sofia Walia, Priya Randhawa, Parveen Brar, Naveen Johal, Arun Kooner, and Lauren and Tara Boggs.
