TWU bringing Keg Cup back to Langley

The Trinity Western Spartans men’s soccer team needed penalty kicks but came up victorious in capturing the Keg Cup.

The four-team competition was hosted over the weekend by the University of Victoria.

And in Sunday’s championship final, the Spartans defeated the Fraser Valley (UFV) Cascades 2-1 in penalty kicks with Jordan Kasian stopping a pair of UFV shooters for the victory.

In Saturday’s semifinal, Vito Polletto scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over UBC.

The Spartans women’s fell 2-0 in Sunday’s Keg Cup final, losing to the host Vikes.

TWU had defeated UBC 1-0 in the semifinals with Amy Gartke scoring the lone goal.
