The U-14 Kootenay South Storm emerged victorious in their opening match of the U-13 to U-15 Girls Soccer Provincial B Cup at Lakeside Park in Nelson this morning.
They beat Surrey 3-1.
“It was a pretty close game with a lot of back and forth but we managed to get a few extra goals,” said coach Chris Pengelly.
The U-13 Kootenay South team lost 2-0 to Terrace.
Tomorrow the U-14s play Kootenay South at 8 a.m. while the U-13s take on Port Coquitlam at 2 p.m.
The round robin continues on Saturday with the finals set for Sunday.
