The first game had all the makings of a rout as Bear had dominated Serenity all season long; posting a perfect 8-0-0 record versus the Cellar Dwellers.
However, pursuit of the Lumber Cup is the great equalizer, and Serenity didn’t quit as they overcame a 2-0 half-time deficit to win 3-2, as Wade Price “Is Right” scored the winner.
The late game should have been tight, as BCS had a 4-1-3 record versus Fraser River, who only had one loss in their last five games leading up to the 24th Lumber Cup.
The Chevy Crew looked good early, as their star D-man Kris “Haymaker” Hayman did it all on his own to open up the scoring on a long-range wrister.
That’s when Wade “The Blade” Fenton put BCS on his back as he scored a pair that both went in off the netminder’s back to earn a 2-1 half-time lead.
Both ‘tenders closed the door in the second half to allow Blue Collar the one-goal victory.
The FHL playoffs continue for the rest of the week in the Quesnel arenas.
