Comox Valley United men’s soccer club is getting ready to open for business. Unfinished business, that is.
After coming tantalizingly close to promotion to Div. 2 last season, the local lads are now preparing for another season of Div. 3 action in the Vancouver Island Soccer League.
“It’s time to dust off those boots and begin to prepare for the upcoming fall season,” player-coach Carey Cordocedo said. “For those of you returning from last season, we have some unfinished business to do and for those new to the fold we welcome you with open arms.”
The team began tryouts last week and have four more sessions upcoming: Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 7-9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 16 from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 21 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 23 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. All tryouts are at Woodcote Park in Courtenay.
“We will be carrying between 18 and 20 players again so it’s important that you are present for as many tryout sessions as you can,” Cordocedo noted in an e-mail to his players.
