For a year, the Unstoppables, a senior ladies team, did not let their male opposition forget they are the inaugural Challenge Cup slo-pitch champions.
The ladies over-60 team lifted the inaugural cup by a close match 14-13 last year in what was dubbed as Parksville’s version of the Battle of the Sexes.
The Cup was a fun competition that features senior ballers in their 60s and 70s. It will be played again at the Parksville Community Park ball fields on July 17 at 9:15 a.m.

Organizer Randy White said the Unstoppables are keen to keep the cup and bragging rights for another year.
“Bring a chair and cheer for us,” said Marien Morton, Unstoppables’ captain. “We have no intention of losing this game.”
The Ravens are working on strategies already.
They are focusing on avenging the loss they suffered against the very competitive and tough Unstoppables. They will take every measure to make sure they are ready to redeem themselves when play begins on Wednesday.
“I have asked our guys to have their naps before the game so we are in top shape to beat these ladies this year,” said Raven’s captain Ian Blake.
White said they are inviting the community to come out and watched this two teams compete against each other.
It’s not only a fun event but it also shows that just because you’re a senior doesn’t mean you can’t play ball.
