The Third Annual Jordan Siegmueller Memorial Charity Golf Tournament set fundraising records once again.

Crystal Wells, who organizes the event alongside her husband, Cody, with the support of the Williams Lake Golf and Tennis Club and multiple business sponsors and donors within the community and abroad, said upwards of $30,000 was raised and will be donated to non-profit organizations Big Brothers Big Sisters of Williams Lake, the Williams Golf and Tennis Club and to two $1,000 Lake City Secondary School athletic bursaries named in Siegmueller’s honour.

“Jordan was a phenomenal golfer, well-known to the community and well loved, and his tragic passing a couple years ago inspired us to raise a bit of money in his honour for local organizations,” Crystal said. “It’s been super successful the last two years, and it’s been great again this year.”

The big hole, four-person scramble, fun tournament saw 160 golfers hit the links at the WLGTC, along with many more friends and community members attending a Friday night social at the Fox’s Den Restaurant at the WLGTC.

“It filled up in three days this year, which was record breaking for us,” Crystal said.

“We had golfers of all levels: beginners to very good golfers.”

In addition at this year’s event, participants travelled all the way from Victoria, Kamloops, Grande Prairie and Prince George to take part in the tournament to pay tribute to Siegmueller.

Crystal thanked all of the sponsors, businesses, participants, volunteers and the course for helping make the weekend a massive success.

“It takes a lot of people to run a tournament this big,” Crystal said. “Thanks for everyone’s support. It’s been really exciting to see the publicity it’s gotten and we’ll go as long as we can and are hoping to keep building the bursary as much as we can, and keep helping out non profits [in the community].”
