Valentine’s curling

The Terrace Valentine’s Bonspiel was a great success this year says event organizer Lisa Bullied.

In total 22 ladies teams converged on the Terrace Curling Rink to participate in the event which ran from Friday to Sunday, Feb. 11-13.

The A event finals were won by the Joseph rink.

The team is a family affair with family members from Kitimat, Terrace and Smithers involved.

Helen Joseph was the team skip, Heather Joseph was the 3rd, Janice Joesph the 2nd and Teresa Bartel was the lead.

Second place in the A event was the Munson rink from Terrace.

The B event was won by the McLean rink from Prince Rupert, and the C event went to the Pettersen team from Terrace.

Five of the 22 teams involved were from Prince Rupert, two were from Kitimat, and the winning rink was a combination team.

The ladies-only bonspiel is in its 55th year, and is planned again for next year.

The next bonspiel for the club is the Men’s Loggers Bonspiel March 25 to 27.

Curlers may telephone the club to enter at (250) 635 5583.
