The Langley Rams trampled the Valley Huskers Saturday night at McLeod Stadium, dropping Chilliwack’s junior football team to 0-6 on the season.
The Rams ran away with the B.C. Football Conference match-up in the second half, rolling to a 45-3 victory behind the arm of quarterback Rylan Matters and the pass catching of Khalik Johnson.
Johnson went off on the Huskers defence, hauling in seven passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns.
Matters threw for 225 yards in all, completing 13 of 20 attempts. He was picked off once, with Alex Zamora getting his hands on an errant toss and running it back 49 yards.
That one big play by Zamora was almost greater than Chilliwack’s combined offensive output.
Against the fierce Langley D the Husker O generated 63 total yards, including just 14 in the entire first half.
Quarterback Noah Falconer completed one of 14 pass attempts, with running back Keegan Vicklund hauling in a seven yarder.
Vicklund rolled up 50 yards rushing on 13 carries, including a long gain of 15. Garrett Fedak had 14 yards on two carries.
The only Husker points came off the leg of place-kicker Danny Harris, who booted a 30 yard field goal.
Chilliwack has played three straight on the road and hasn’t hosted a game at Exhibition Stadium since a week three loss to Vancouver Island Raiders on Aug. 12.
They finally return to home field Saturday afternoon, with a 1 p.m. kickoff vs a BCFC beast.
The unbeaten Okanagan Sun are in town with their spotless 5-0 record.
