Chilliwack’s Valley Huskers have ended a third straight B.C. Football Conference season with a zero in the win column.
The junior football club fell 28-10 to the Kamloops Broncos in Saturday’s 2018 regular-season finale at Exhibition Stadium and finish with an 0-10 record.
The Broncos finished the season 2-8, with both of their wins against Chilliwack.
Kamloops rolled up 430 net yards of offence in Saturday’s win, led by veteran quarterback Colby Henkel. The pivot completed 24 of 34 pass attempts for 273 yards, throwing touchdown tosses to Brody Bernier and Matt Wight.
Thijs Duineveld led Kamloops in receiving with six catches for 72 yards.
The Broncos ground game produced 144 yards led by Max Joseph, who carried the ball nine times for 67 yards.
Henkel scrambled for a TD and Andrew Pocrnic also found his way into the endzone for a rushing major.
Chilliwack’s offence couldn’t keep up. Quarterback Noah Falconer wrapped up a forgettable campaign with a 10-for-27 effort for 122 yards.
Marius Anghel was his leading receiver, with four catches for 52 yards.
R.J. Begg hauled in a touchdown pass from backup QB Nicolae Nica, who completed four of nine attempts for 33 yards.
Both quarterbacks were intercepted once.
Keegan Vicklund led the Chilliwack ground game with 10 carries for 33 yards, with Garrett Fedak adding 18 yards on three tries.
The Husker defence got an interception from Riley Simpson and a fumble recovery from Tristan Fournier.
Tristyn Erwood-MacDonald and Daniel Kabongo produced QB sacks.
— The BCFC playoffs will pit the top-seed Westshore Rebels (9-1) vs the fourth place Langley Rams (4-6) in a Saturday semi-final.
The second place Okanagan Sun (8-1-1) and third place Vancouver Island Raiders (6-3-1) meet Sunday.
