The Vees posted on their Twitter account that former goalie Mathew Robson was invited to the Toronto Maple Leafs camp. He joins new Vee and 2017 NHL draft pick Ryan O’Connell. Nick Leivermann, selected by the Colorado Avalanche, joins former Vees captain Tyson Jost, who was drafted by the Avs in the first round of last year’s draft at camp.

Dante Fabbro, selected by the Nashville Predators in last year’s NHL Entry Draft is attending their development camp.

Burnaby native Steven Iacobellis, who played 49 games for the Vees, 47 in the 2010-11 season, was invited to the Vancouver Canucks camp. Iacobellis, 23, who also played for Cowichan Valley and Salmon Arm, completed his National Collegiate Athletic Association career with UMass (Amherst) as their captain. The 5-9, 174-pound forward put up 31 goals and 87 points in 139 career games.
