Riley Alferd buried the winner, while Cody DePourcq and Brad McClure each scored twice to lead the Penticton Vees past the Chilliwack Chiefs 9-4.
DePourcq opened the scoring in the South Okanagan Events Centre Saturday night 1:38 into the first period when he was setup by Paul Stoykewych and Travis Blanleil. Jake Ahlgren and McClure put in two more, while Cooper Rush scored on the power play to cut the Vees lead to 3-1.
The Chiefs tied the game at three with Rush scoring again 34 seconds into the second frame. Three minutes later, Blake Gober scored. The Vees responded with two goals in the final six minutes with tallies by McClure and Alferd.
In the final frame, the Vees erupted with four consecutive goals to seal the win. Vees goalie Hunter Miska, who was backed up by Darren Hogg, made 12 saves in the victory.
Both teams went one-for-four on the power play.
With the win, the Vees are back in first in the Interior Division with a 17-7-1-3 record and 38 points.
