The Interior Divison leading Penticton Vees will take on the second place Trail Smoke Eaters in back-to-back games this weekend as both teams pay homage to their World Champion histories. The teams will face-off Friday in Trail and Saturday in Penticton.

The Vees will sport vintage jerseys from the 1955 season when they defeated the Soviet Union to capture the World Championship. Meanwhile, the Smoke Eaters will don sweaters from the 1961 season when they won gold against Czecholslovakia.
The back-to-back matchups will be crucial for the first place Vees if they are to fend off the second place Smoke Eaters, who currently sit six points back in the division.

The organzition will be offering a special promotion on tickets for the World Chamionship Weekend game; tickets can be bought for a discounted price of $10.55, if you also purchase tickets to Wednesday’s game against the Langley Rivermen. The offer is available until Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be bought at the Valley First Box Office, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
