Langley Rivermen forward Marcus Vela is on the radar for the 2015 NHL draft.
Vela, a six-foot-two, 200-pound forward for the local junior A hockey club, was one of six BCHL players on the watch list released by NHL Central Scouting for November.
He was also on the preliminary list released back in September.
The 17-year-old is committed to New Hampshire for the 2016/17 season.
The second-year forward from Burnaby is third on the Rivermen with three goals and 18 points in 23 games. He had 11 goals and 22 points in 54 games last season.
His 15 assists are tops on the team.
Vela was given a C grade, which indicates scouts anticipate the player to have a fourth/fifth/sixth round value for the June entry draft.
