The Vernon Panthers and Fulton Maroons cleaned up the Okanagan AA Varsity Football Conference.
The crosstown rivals accounted for 17 of 26 awards in the six-team circuit, the Panthers leading with 12 and Fulton earning five.
VSS, coached by Sean Smith, took the two top awards, with Offensive MVP going to Zac Kronbauer and Defensive MVP going to Karson Patommel.
Earning other offensive awards for the Cats were running back Levi Nicholas, receiver Josh Hyer and offensive linemen Jeff Hiscoe, Chase Larsen and Louis Wesner.
Panthers collecting defensive awards include: defensive lineman Ben Hladik, linebackers Carson Lebrecque and Justin Havercamp, and defensive backs John Garvie and Zach Hyer.
Tye Kitzman collected the Top Quarterback award for Fulton, coached by Mike Scheller. Receiver Mike Williamson and offensive lineman Sikander Ahmad were also recognized for their offensive efforts.
Maroons’ lineman Darrien Broomfield and linebacker Max Chapman earned defensive honours.
The Cats, ranked No. 1 in B.C. for the first time in school history, battle the Abbotsford Collegiate Panthers in provincial quarterfinal action today, 4 p.m., at Hillside Stadium in Kamloops.
Abby, the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, blanked the Frank Hurt Hornets of Surrey 35-0 in Round 1 play last week. The Hornets were ranked No. 3 in the South.
Vernon stuffed the Argyle Pipers of North Vancouver 35-0 in their opening round tilt.
