Vernon hosts eight-team bantam rep hockey tournament

Vernon Sun Valley Source For Sports Vipers meet league rivals Kamloops Blazers in Friday opener

Teams from B.C. and Alberta join the host Vernon Sun Valley Source For Sports Vipers in an eight-team Bantam Tier 2 Rep Minor Hockey tournament in Vernon this weekend.

Games get underway Friday at 3:30 p.m. with the West Kelowna Warriors battling the Kelowna Rockets at Kal Tire Place North in a Pool A contest. North Delta and Campbell River Tyees are the other Pool A sides.

The Vipers are grouped with the Kamloops Blazers, and those two face each other at 8 p.m. Friday at KPTN. The Vipers take on the Okotoks Oilers of Alberta Saturday at 10:45 a.m., and close out the preliminary round Saturday at 5:30 p.m. against the New Westminster Royals.

The championship game will be played Sunday at 12:45 p.m. at Kal Tire Place North.

Some tournament games are at the Priest Valley Arena.
