Vernon Christian School Royals finished sixth at the B.C. High School Senior Girls A Volleyball championships in Nanaimo.
The Royals, who finished second in their round-robin pool, won their round-of-16 playoff match 3-0 over the Fernie Falcons to advance to the quarterfinals, where they fell 3-0 to the host Nanaimo Christian Trail Blazers.

Vernon Christian then defeated the Credo Christian Kodiaks of Langley 2-0 before dropping their final game of the tournament, 2-0, to the Sparwood Spartans in the battle for fifth place.
In the preliminary round, the Royals defeated the Elkford Celtics 2-1; beat the Campbell River Christian Cougars and Ecole Jules Verne Albatross of Vancouver 2-0, and lost 2-1 to the Southpointe Academy Titans of Tsawwassen.
Unity Christian Flames of Chilliwack won their second straight provincial title, beating Kelowna’s Aberdeen Hall Gryphons 3-0 in the championship.
Meanwhile, the Seaton Sonics were seventh and the Vernon Panthers 13th at the B.C. High School Senior Girls AAA Volleyball championships in Powell River.

Both teams advanced to the round-of-16 championship draw out of the round-robin. Seaton defeated the Nanaimo District Secondary Islanders 25-19, 25-16, 16-25, 20-25, 15-11 to earn a quarterfinal matchup with the Elgin Park Orcas of Surrey.
The Orcas defeated Seaton 25-23, 25-23, 24-26, 25-20. The Sonics then faced Okanagan rivals South Kamloops Titans, who scored a 2-0 victory, dropping the Sonics to the seventh-place game, where Seaton beat the Mark Isfeld Ice of Courtenay 25-13, 12-25, 15-13.
The Panthers were swept by the Ice 25-10, 25-10, 25-20 in the round-of-16, relegating VSS to the consolation side, where the lost 27-25, 28-26 to the Caledonia Kermodes of Terrace.
VSS defeated the D.W. Poppy Redhawks of Langley 25-13, 25-19, before finishing off the tournament with a marathon 31-29, 25-21 victory over the host Brooks Thunderbirds.
Crofton House of Vancouver defeated the Carihi Tyees of Campbell River 3-2 in the gold-medal contest. Elgin Park won bronze.
