Vernon stars hit Empire

They took to the field at Empire Stadium, and picked up some tips from the B.C. Lions.

Fulton Maroon grads Kris Davidson and Ben Olson, and Kalamalka Laker grad Justin Feke were among 90 talented graduating high school stars showcasing their skill at Football B.C.’s Senior Bowl last week in Vancouver.

Those attending were invited after regional tryouts. In addition to learning from the Lions, they also received position-specific coaching from Simon Fraser, UBC and B.C. Junior Football staff at the five-day camp.

Post-practice, Wally Buono, the winningest coach in CFL history, addressed the Senior Bowl with words of inspiration, using football as a positive force in pursuing any future endeavors.

Davidson was named Team East’s Most Improved Running Back at the camp. Feke, a defensive lineman, was awarded Team East’s Defensive Player of the Game in the Senior Bowl game.
