Linemates Dexter Dancs and Michael McNicholas each had a goal and an assist as the Vernon Vipers bounced the Alberni Valley Bulldogs 4-1 in B.C. Hockey League play Saturday night at Kal Tire Place.

Liam Coughlin and third star TJ Dumonceaux chipped in with a pair of helpers each, helping Vernon rebound from a 5-3 loss to the West Kelowna Warriors the night before.

Vernon (23-14-3-4) trails the Warriors (25-12-2-2) by one point in the Interior Division. The Dawgs dipped to 13-23-2-5.

The Snakes visit the Salmon Arm SilverBacks (21-17-1-3) for a 3 p.m. matinee Sunday at the Shaw Centre. The Gorillas stuffed the division-leading Penticton Vees 3-2 in overtime Saturday at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Singles by Logan Mick and McNicholas (first star) pegged Vernon to a first-period lead over Alberni, who responded on a Mitch Owsley snipe 17:08 into period two. However, Dancs (second star) restored the Snakes’ two-goal cushion just 37 seconds after that.

Brendan Persley completed the offence in the third frame, helping Austin Smith (29 saves) record his 12th win. Nathan Warren had 19 stops for the Bulldogs.
