The Vernon DCT Chambers Voltage went 2-0 in Petite ringette play last weekend, starting with a 12-7 smothering of the West Kelowna Fireworks Saturday.
Emma Elders canned four goals and two assists, and Grace Cornell added a pair of goals and three helpers to power the Voltage offence. Emma Lochhead (2), Jaden Scott (1+2), Rylie Marchand, Bryn Taylor-Hawes and Mackenzie Munroe rounded out the scoring.
Kenzie Koshure helped out with a couple of assists in support of Kalen Webster.
On Sunday, the Voltage used 2+2 from Scott to zap the Kelowna Lightning 10-6.
Elders and Marchand each chipped in with 2+1, and Cornell Webster (1+2), Koshure and Munroe added singles. Carly Newman had an assist, and Amy Demetrick, Levi Knopf and Giselle Torres showed great hustle in front of goalie Brook Buller.
In other Petite play, the Advertising Works Rebels outgunned the Kelowna Ringers 11-8 at the Capital News Centre.
Abygayle Williamson was on fire with 4+4, Alyssa Carter recorded 3+2, Madison Fox supplied 2+2, and Hailey Quiring notched a pair. Kyra Olsen and Katie Finlayson were bulldogs for the Rebels, creating many turnovers. Liam Van Wyk was amazing between the posts.
The Vernon Fury fell 5-4 to Kelowna in Junior A action Sunday at Rutland Arena.
The Fury, sponsored by Roc-Star Drywall and Century 21 – Team B.C., were paced by a two-goal effort by Aryanna Jacura, with Riley Martian and Sydney Harder each bagging a single. Jocelyn Jones had two assists and Bailey Williamson and Madison Powls each had one.
Kelowna squeezed its first point out of the Cornerstone Dental Rush in a 4-4 Tween A tie Sunday at Priest Valley Arena.
With goalie Garrett Adams and top scorer Kendra Ostafie attending a hockey tournament, and Saige Woodliffe on the injured list, the Rush relied on call-up netminder Aleisha Smith, who did a stellar job. Alex Drury (2), Shelby Conners, and Delaney Tetrault supplied the offence.
The Newalta Tween B Renegades bowed 10-3 to the Shuswap Tween A’s Saturday in Salmon Arm.
Jillian Pipke, with a pair, and Miranda Chapple handled the Newalta attack.
Sunday at PV, the Renegades fell 6-5 to West Kelowna, with Chapple (2), Marika Munroe, Pipke and Mason Christensen finding the scoresheet.
Ellen Campbell and Sophie Granley earned assists, while Natalie Ethier, Demi Williamson, Addison Nerbus and Chelsea McNabb all had solid efforts in front of netminder Aleisha Smith.
In Novice action Saturday, the Vernon Davidson Lawyers Orcas toppled the Kelowna Hericanes 11-3.
Arianna Kostisin led the Orca scoring with a hat trick, Logan Thoma and Chayse Krause each added a pair, and Tye Krause, Daine Thoma, Paige Neufeld and Sierra Lochhead all pitched in with singles. Mackenzie Gilman, Rhys Taylor-Hawes and Amber Lowe all showed great hustle to help Brooklyn Young collect the win.
Kristin Ho and Emma Roine each fired hat tricks as the Vernon Blue Dragons toppled the Kelowna Ice Breakers 12-8 Saturday at PV.
Supplying deuces for the Dragons were Jordan Scott and Brynn Korol, singles coming from Hannah McMorran and Kaila Summerfelt. Taliya Yamaoka (2), Korol (2), McMorran (2), and Alassa Johnson contributed assists.
Kierra Newman helped spark the offence with some nice passes. Miah Wagovcsik-Cohen recorded the win.
Aimee Skinner, Emma Chater and Makenna Jackson all pocketed hat tricks as the Vernon Blue Lighting buzzed host West Kelowna 12-1 in Bunny action.
With just eight players, the Lightning relied on a strong passing game. Peyton Trevelyan made some stellar moves to set up Kristen Francks for a goal. Emily Gilman and Kennedy Jackson had stellar saves and also drew assists. Madison Edgar scored the final goal with 30 seconds to play.
In other Bunny play, Team Yellow fell 8-5 to the Black Panthers in an all-Vernon battle.
Scoring for the Panthers were Hillary Quiring (3+2), Sierra Fernley (3), Jasmine Horton and Lauren Cooke. Katrina Winstanley had two helpers while Taylor Stewart, Sophia Winstanley and Peyton Glowa also chipped in with an assist each.
Yellow got offence from Amelia Johnson (2+2) and Astrid Beaty (2+1) and Kate Mallow, who had a goal and an assist.
