Nanaimo’s Vancouver Island Baseball Institute closes out the Canadian College Baseball Conference regular season this weekend (May 7-8) with games in Kelowna against the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack and the Okanagan Coyotes.

The M’s had troubles against the league’s first-placed Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs last weekend in Lethbridge, Alta., losing 10-0, 12-1, 7-5 and 9-6.

In Sunday’s early game, Gobind Sall had two hits for VIBI.

In the late game, Sall hit a single and a triple and Matt Brisson and Tyler Ulrich also had a pair of hits each.

In Monday’s finale, Adrian Gutierrez had two hits and two RBIs and Sall and Carver Krafchuk also had two hits.
