The first half of the BCHL season has been kind to Victoria Grizzlies netminder Matthew Galajda.
Earlier in the year, the 19 year-old Aurora, Ont. native announced his commitment to attend and play at Cornell University, a school that’s produced some pretty elite talent over the years – Ken Dryden comes to mind.
Now, having helped lead the Grizzlies to a 16-5-2-3 record with a sparkling 2.25 G.A.A. and a .922 save percentage, Galajda will have a chance to represent Canada West at the upcoming World Junior A Challenge in Bonnyville, Alta.
To reach that goal, he’ll have to prove himself against the six other goaltenders invited to a Dec. 5-8 tryout camp in Leduc, Alta.
Galadja was one of 25 BCHLers invited to the camp, and one of just two goalies.
