Victoria Grizzlies searching for consistency

Local squad looks to come back from two losses at home in Colwood

The Victoria Grizzlies are having a bit of trouble with consistency. After winning three in a row, the team dropped their last two contests against the Chilliwack Chiefs and the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Last Saturday the Grizzlies lost 3-0 against Chilliwack but the Chiefs only had six shots on net the entire game. The Grizzlies however, tallied 28 shots on goal but were unable to capitalize on any of those chances.

On Sunday, the Grizzlies started off stronger in The Q Centre against Salmon Arm, scoring two goals in the first period less than a minute apart from Ethan Nother and Alex Newhook.

But that was it for the home side.

The Silverbacks scored one in the second period and again in the third to tie the game 2-2 and send it to extra time. Noah Wakeford scored at the two minute mark to win the game for the Silverbacks.

The Grizzlies are looking to get back on the right track Friday, Nov. 3 against the Merritt Centennials. The puck drops at 7 p.m. at The Q Centre.
