The Beacon Hill Little League All-Stars made a run at the provincial championship in Trail last week, but in the end came up short.
The squad, made up of nine and 10 year olds, finished the tournament at 1-4 and missed the playoffs.
Beacon Hill won their first game 10-9 against Dunbar (Vancouver), but then lost to host Trail 20-14, Highlands (North Vancouver) 12-2, Hastings (East Vancouver) 20-2 and White Rock 20-1.
“All the coaches, parents and community members that were involved in getting these kids onto the ball field are very proud of how they played and conducted themselves both on and off the field,” said assistant coach George Bielay.
The Beacon Hill All-Stars went undefeated to win the District 7 title and the right to move on to the provincial championship.
