Debuting basketball team shows off official colours

The Fraser Valley Bandits officially unveiled their new duds on Saturday afternoon.

The Canadian Elite Basketball League team showed off the team’s colours on the main stage of the B.C. Classic and Custom Car Show inside Abbotsford’s Tradex.

At the time of the event, the team stated that the away jerseys feature a primary orange colour, while the home jerseys are blue. However, after the reception that the orange colour received, the Bandits changed their minds and now orange will be the team’s home look.

“The reception to the orange kit was fantastic and we want to champion that colour and present an edge that differentiates us from other teams and makes us stand out in an impactful way,” stated Andrew Savory, the the marketing and communications manager for the Bandits.

“I’m excited to introduce exactly what our players will wear when they take the court to represent the Fraser Valley, not only on our home court at Abbotsford Centre, but across the country in the CEBL’s five other inaugural cities, and internationally on CEBL.tv as well,” stated Bandits President Lee Genier. “These jerseys are emblematic of the geography and culture that defines the Fraser Valley, and have been crafted by New Era Cap to illustrate the beauty of the Valley and to reflect the toughness and competitiveness that the Fraser Valley Bandits will play with each and every night.”

Bandits jerseys will be available for purchase at Abbotsford Centre on Bandits game days, and through the team’s online store

The team officially kicks off the CEBL season on May 9, when the Guelph Nighthawks comes to the Abbotsford Centre.
