The horseshoes are set to fly next month in Abbotsford.
The B.C. Horseshoe Association brings its B.C. International Highwayman Open, and dozens of players from all over the province, Washington State and Oregon are expected to compete.
The event runs from May 18 to 19 at the Abbotsford Horseshoe Club headquarters on 2308 Adanac Street.
Athletes will be competing in men’s, women’s, seniors and juniors division at the event and prize money is up for grabs.
There is a $25 entry fee for all participants, but junior throwers can enter for free. The entry fee allows you to compete on both days.
The event will also include a 50/50 draw and raffle draws.
Defending champions from 2018, including men’s champion Don Davis (Washington), women’s champion Lindsay Hodgins (Ladysmith, B.C.) and seniors champion Barry Chapelle (Oregon) are expected to be defending their crowns.
Organizers anticipate an entry of 70 to 90 players in total. Entries for the event can be submitted online at bchorseshoe.com.
