If you’ve been holding out until the last minute to snap up tickets for this weekend’s Montreal Canadiens Alumni Game, you better hurry.
They are just about sold out. As of Monday at noon there was just one VIP ticket left for the game, which takes place at the Hope Arena on Saturday afternoon. The VIP tickets include viewing from the newly updated loft above the arena, and a meet and greet with the alumni players, for $60.
There are a few bleacher seats left at $30, says Shannon Jones from the Hope Visitor Centre, and standing room tickets are on sale two-for-one, at $15 a pair.
In the meantime, the Hope, Cascades & Canyons team that will face off against the Canadiens have been hard at work on the ice practicing for the big game.
They’ll be playing against a team of alumni headed up by coach Steve Shutt. The team includes Richard Sévigny, Oleg Petrov, Keith Acton, Mathieu Dandenault, Pierre Dagenais, Jesse Belanger, Mike Weaver, Jocelyn Lemieux, Marc-André Bergeron and Patrice Brisebois.
Doors open at the rink at 2 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 25, and the puck drops at 3 p.m.
To get those last tickets, drop by the Hope Visitor Centre in person, or call them at 604-869-2021.
