Basketball season is getting closer as the UVic Vikes women will host a three-team Canada West tournament in the CARSA Performance Gym this week.
Visiting Thursday is the Alberta Pandas, opening the Canada West Tournament against the Vikes at 7 p.m. On Friday the Vikes will play the Saskatchewan Huskies, 6 p.m. in CARSA.
The Vikes women are coming off two wins at the Ryerson tournament, 60-43 over the Western Mustangs and 63-55 against the Cape Breton Capers. Ryerson defeated the Vikes 73-70.
The Vikes men are also at home this week, hosting Mount Royal for two games, 8 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
