BCHL: Vernon scores first five goals in 5-1 win at Kal Tire Place

Jimmy Lambert and Steven Jandric each scored twice to lead the Vernon Vipers to a 5-1 B.C. Hockey League win over the Trail Smoke Eaters in front of 1,663 fans Saturday night at Kal Tire Place.

Austin Adamson had the other goal for Vernon while Darion Hanson made 30 saves for the win.

Former North Okanagan Knights goalie Zach Dyment made 44 saves for Trail.

The win pulled the Vipers to within eight points of the first-place Penticton Vees in the Interior Division. The Vees lost 2-1 in double overtime to the Grizzlies in Victoria.

Vernon is 11 points ahead of third-place Trail.
