Vote for Mount Washington Alpine Resort in this year’s Powder Magazine’s Ski Town Throwdown – but do it now.
Voting closes at 5 p.m. Pacific time today (Wednesday, Oct. 8). “The tournament is smaller this year, so we’re in a wild card division called the Great White North with eight other resorts vying to get into the main tournament,” said Mount Washington spokesperson Brent Curtain.
As of 1 p.m. Wednesday, Mount Washington was in a tight three-way tie for first place, Curtain said.
There are a couple of changes from last season so here’s the lowdown on how Islanders can vote. No Facebook voting this year; votes take place at the powder.com website. Better yet, head to the Mount Washington Facebook page, Twitter page or website and follow this link to vote: http://goo.gl/xfNDgJ.
“We’re stoked about the upcoming season and this tournament is a great way to build some hype for it,”Curtain said. “The Ski Town Throwdown is also a great platform for exposing the Island to skiers and boarders from across North America.

“Let’s go, Vancouver Island – vote for Washy!” Curtain added.
In the play-in round, Mount Washington is up against Cypress, Sun Peaks, Kimberley, Panorama, Banff/Lake Louise, Kicking Horse, Big White and Silver Star.
