Shawnigan Lake’s Tyler Lindsay grabbed his second gold of the 2016 BC Summer Games by taking top prize in the U-18 boys wakeskate event at Albert Dick Lake in Abbotsford. Lindsay’s score of 64 was enough to top the event, which sees athletes riding a board that is not connected to their feet. Earlier in the day, he had won gold in the wakeboarding event.
Deklon Shadlock of Mill Bay followed after posting a score of 58, while Coquitlam’s Jacob Haddon claimed third with a score of 50. Shadlock had won bronze in the wakeboarding event.
In the U18 girls event, Alisa Clydesdale grabbed gold by posting a score of 45, notching her second medal of the day after winning silver in the wakeboarding event earlier in the day.
The sister duo of Hannah and Hailey Doucette battled it out for silver, with Hannah grabbing second-place honours and Hailey finishing in third.
The U14 boys event saw Zakk Harman take his second gold of the games, following his wakeboard triumph earlier in the day. Brothers Noah and Caleb Woollends grabbed silver and bronze, respectively. Noah had won bronze in the wakeboard event.
Sera Watson’s score of 45 was good for gold in the U14 wakeskate event. Grace McNaul finished second with a score of 26.
The athletes are back in the water Saturday for jump and trick events.
