The third annual Andy Waughman Memorial Soccer Tournament was a fundraising success at the VantageOne Soccer Centre.
Approximately 50 players on four teams participated in the event, raising more than $1,500 for the Andy Waughman Sport Bursary. Wendy’s Restaurant supplied a chili dinner after the final game.
Waughman died in December 2010 following a lengthy illness. He was the longtime technical director of North Okanagan Youth Soccer and the Vernon District Development Centre. Originally from England, he was instrumental in the Okanagan’s participation in the Super Y League.
