Wellington and Nanaimo District took similar paths at provincials.
The city’s two representatives at AAA B.C. boys’ basketball championships in Langley both lost their first games Wednesday, won Thursday, then lost Friday, setting up a meeting Saturday to determine 11th place. Wellington defeated NDSS 61-47. Hayden Jeffrey scored 19 points for the Wildcats and Ryder Jenks added 16, while Max Reed scored 20 for NDSS.
Wellington’s other win came against McNair, while NDSS defeated Charles Hays.
