In Okanagan 55+ play Thursday night, Vernon Silver Stars grounded the nine-man North Country Kickers of Kelowna 4-1 at MacDonald Park.
Mark Wasylyk scored three times after Dick Markin opened the scoring for the 4-2-1 Stars. Ted Lurkins was denied the shut out when Steve Frost blasted an unstoppable 30-yarder. The Kickers dipped to 4-3.
Kelowna #1 iced Vernon Kal Tire 5-1 at Mission Sportsfield #10.
Roger Irving scored on a header in the second half on a feed from Tony Cheshire for the Tiremen (3-3-1). Kelowna is 5-2.
