Westshore Rebels team president Elise Pastro and fellow Rebels executive Sue Fournier were honoured recently with the Canadian Junior Football League’s Stewart McDonald executive of the year award.
The honour marked a positive finish for the team, which struggled to a 2-8 record on the field in a rebuilding year.
Defensive back Braeden Swatez, who intercepted a national- best seven passes this season, was earlier named a defensive all-Canadian by the CJFL.
The Rebels also won the Dave Cook Most Sportsmanlike team award in the B.C. Football Conference.
