The Ballenas Whalers senior boys basketball team endured another 82-52 loss against the John Barsby Bulldogs in a Triple A Conference game on Tuesday night at Ballenas gym.

So far the Whalers are 0-5 and have one more conference game left against the Alberni Armada, who also have a similar record as Ballenas. The Whalers will travel to Port Alberni and will have to play their best to avoid being the cellar-dwellers of the conference.

Against the Bulldogs, the Whalers kept within striking as they trailed 31-22 at the half but when game resumed, the Bulldogs switched to a higher gear and never let up.

Jacob Stockton led the Whalers with 18 points while Jayden Haftner banked in 12 points and Demar Hohnstein eight points.

On Thursday night at the Ballenas gym, the Whalers will host their archrivals from Qualicum Beach, the Kwalikum Kondors in the annual hoops battle between the two District 69 secondary schools. The game is at 7 p.m.
