Wii golfers raise funds for good cause

A group of about two dozen golf lovers spent the past four Friday nights dreaming of summer, and competing in the Winter Wii Golf Tournament at Hudson Bay Lodge’s Fireside Pub. Organizer Jessy Taggart-Kim said she was happy with the turnout, and is considering making the tournament an annual event.

A group of about two dozen golf lovers spent the past four Friday nights dreaming of summer, and competing in the Winter Wii Golf Tournament at Hudson Bay Lodge’s Fireside Pub. Organizer Jessy Taggart-Kim said she was happy with the turnout, and is considering making the tournament an annual event.

The overall tournament winner at the end of the final round was Gareth Reid, with a final tally of -5. Coming in second place was James Hay, at -3, and right behind him was Betty Goodacre at -2. Rounding out the top 10 competitors were Rick Wytowich, Rod Knap, Jeff Leason, Courtney Nyuli, Ken Kim, Cam Dodds and Jessy.

The Noble Spirit Equine Learning Centre at Double D-Lux ranch was the big winner at the end of the tournament, with proceeds raised going towards Darlene Helkenberg’s therapy horse project that works with at-risk members of the community.
