Williams Lake Blue Fins set for busy two weeks

The Williams Lake Blue Fins swim club will be on the road for the next two weekends at swim meets.

The Williams Lake Blue Fins swim club will be on the road for the next two weekends at swim meets.

Feb. 4-6, 14 swimmers will be at the Kamloops Valentine Splash at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre.

The Valentines swim provides an effective and enjoyable competitive experience for beginner to novice level swimmers. Blue Fins that will be at the meet include: Chloe Dobrinsky, Bridget Pocock, Re’ka Sikli, Kara Zavitz, Mitchell Ryan, Catelyn Ertel, Octavia Rusch, Kasha Vitoratos, Leif Brandson, Drew Woodrod, Paige Kovacs, Tennale Sailor, Maia Vitoratos and Ty Lauren.

Following that, select members of the Blue Fins will head to the B.C. “AA” short course championship in Chilliwack at the Landing Leisure Centre from Feb. 11-13. Swimmers from the Blue Fins who’ll be going to this meet have achieved at least one “AA” time standard in the short course season.

Representing the Blue Fins at the meet will be: Ashley Beauchamp, Coral Choi, Chloe Sylvain, Tracey Beauchamp, Geneva Gordon, David Russell, Kelsey Blokland, Janna Kovacs and Patrick Verbeeck.
