Barrie Wilson picked up first place during a fishing derby at Wilderness Rim Resort on Nimpo Lake Sunday, May 17.
Second place went to Julia Moore of Williams Lake, while third place was won by Ashley Straza, also of Williams Lake.
Organizer Clint Fraser said he’s been organizing the derby for the past six years.
“The Nimpo Lake fishing derby is now renamed the John Laurans Memorial Fishing Derby,” Fraser said.
Wilson’s first-place catch weighed in at 1.6 pounds, Moore’s was close behind at 1.5 pounds and Straza’s was 1.4 pounds.
