WLMHA midget tournament team triumphs at Prince George Christmas Tournament

The Timberwolves went undefeated in four games to bring home the gold medal

A tournament team of Williams Lake Minor Hockey Association midget players put forth a dominant showing Dec. 29-30 at the Prince George Christmas Tournament.

The Timberwolves Tournament Team, who were playing together for the first time at a tournament, went unbeaten at the event, posting lopsided scores throughout.

In round robin play the team finished with three wins and no losses beating two Prince George teams, 19-1 and 12-0, respectively, before shutting out Mackenzie 14-0.

They then went on to face Quesnel in the gold-medal final where they triumphed in a 4-0 affair.

Quesnel proved a formidable opponent in the championship with an impressive showing from its goaltender, who faced a 54-shot barrage in the game.

Williams Lake players spread the scoring throughout the roster, with coaches noting the team worked extremely well together despite having just two practices before the tournament this season.

The team is made up of players from various WLMHA midget house teams who love the game and are looking for some extra tournament play including: Dylan Higginson, Owen Kritz, Ruan Koster, Cameron Prest, Keon Harry, Lucas Chipman, Marcus Kennedy, Aidan Herrling, Brady Smid, Logan Hutchinson, Jaxen Carson, Braden Robbins, Lochen Virk, goaltender Carson Fisher, assistant coach Bruce Baptiste and head coach Corwin Smid.
