North Vancouver power play torches Langley for five man-advantage goals in 7-3 victory

In a battle of division leaders, it was the North Vancouver Wolf Pack prevailing 7-3.

The Wolf Pack did what no other team has done this season: come into the Langley Knights’ castle and beat them at the George Preston Recreation Centre.

Previous to Thursday’s (Oct. 30) game, the Knights had gone 6-0-1-0 on home ice.

The teams were tied at two after 20 minutes, but the Wolf Pack used a five-goal second period to seize control in the junior B hockey game.

Nicolas Bizzutto and Jackson Surbey  scored in the first period for Langley and after Mitchell Ledyard put North Vancouver up 3-2 early in the second, Colin Catchpole responded to make ti 3-3 67 seconds later.

But the Wolf Pack scored four unanswered goals to close the period, including three on the power play.

North Vancouver was 5-for-11 with the man advantage.

Daniel Delbianco scored twice to lead the visitors, while Scott Munro, Spencer Quon, Daniel Tait and Mitchell Crisanti had the other goals.

North Vancouver leads the entire PJHL with a record of 13-1-0-2 while the Knights (9-5-1-0) still lead the Harold Brittain Conference with 19 points, seven head of both Ridge Meadows and Aldergrove.

Langley will look to rebound when they host the Richmond Sockeyes on Nov. 3 at the Preston Centre. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
