The 100 Mile Wranglers lost 5-4 in overtime when they visited the Kamloops Storm on Wednesday (Nov. 9).
It was a bit of a heart-breaker for the Wranglers, who still picked up a point, when the Storm scored with two seconds left in the first overtime.
Sam Bosek, who was the Wranglers’ star of the game, opened the scoring at 12 minutes in the first with the assists going to Ryan Friesen and Rob Raju.
However, the Storm scored a short-handed goal at 5:47.
With 12 ticks of the clock gone in the second, Nick Nordstrom (Austin Turner) gave the Wranglers the lead.
Bosek (Ryan Friesen) put 100 Mile up 3-1, Kamloops stormed back with three unanswered markers to go into the third period, lease 4-3.
Justin Bond (Stephen Egan) tied it at 5:50 of the third, but it was the Storm that got the overtime winner.
Wranglers outshot Kamloops 45-42 and both teams zero for four on the man advantage.
The Storm will roll into 100 Mile House on Saturday (Nov. 12) as the Wranglers will try to take the wind out of sails when the puck drops at 7 p.m.
