The Yale Lions and Abbotsford Panthers senior girls basketball teams have the chance to reach their respective provincial finals with wins tonight at the Langley Events Centre tonight.

Both squads advanced to semifinal play with wins on Thursday, and the Panthers hit the court at 5:30 p.m. when they take on Argyle Secondary.
Abbotsford opened with a 98-33 win over Magee on Wednesday, and continued with a 76-49 win over Duchess Park on Thursday.
If successful, the Panthers would battle for the 3A title on Saturday at 2:45 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Yale Lions are also excelling in the 4A tier and opened with a 73-36 win over Handsworth on Wednesday.
They followed that up by defeating Riverside 74-52 on Thursday.
The Lions take on Terry Fox tonight at 8:30 p.m. for a trip to the 4A finals. That championship tips off on Saturday at 5 p.m.
In other senior girls basketball news, the MEI Eagles championship hopes ended after losing 60-58 McMath on Thursday. The Eagles advanced to the quarter-final round after beating Vernon 66-51 on Wednesday.
The St. John Brebeuf Bears run is also over after losing 79-52 to Britannia on Thursday in the 2A tournament. The Bears, making their first-ever appearance at the provincials, defeated Southridge 61-48 on Wednesday.
