The oldest trophy in Canadian sports heads to the Cloverdale Arena this weekend.

The Grey Cup makes a morning stopover here Saturday, Feb. 4 as part of a week-long victory tour by the B.C. Lions.

See the cup – and some BC Lions – from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Cloverdale Recreation Centre, 6188 176 Street. Bring the whole family.

The cup is part of an event featuring Surrey Mayor Dianne Watts and MLAs Kevin Falcon (Surrey-Cloverdale) and Stephanie Cadieux (Surrey-Panorama Ridge).

The trophy will be accompanied at various spots during the B.C. jaunt by Lions players Travis Lulay, Paul McCallum, Geroy Simon and Angus Reid.

This isn’t the first time the Grey Cup has made a Cloverdale visit in the wake of the B.C. Lions’ exciting November victory on home turf at BC Place.

The trophy visited Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary last month, and returned again in January, when it toured several local elementary schools, Don Christian Elementary (pictured) and Ecole Martha Currie Elementary.
