There is no mistake that spring has arrived when bikers take to the open road. A large number of motorcycles were recently spotted parked in front of Little Fort’s Hi Five Diner. Inside the riders filled the restaurant, not just enjoying the food, but also socializing with each other and sharing road travel experiences. Pictured are two of the bike riders posing for a photo under a sunny sky before getting back on the road.

The Bergstrands from Sun Hills Apiaries at Heffley Creek had their honey for sale, noting they think bees are fascinating creatures. During the winter season the bees require lot of care, but during the summer the bees are doing their work. They explained the bees only fly about 3km, and their apiaries are located in an area that is far enough removed from any agricultural activities that might use pesticides.

Area resident Bruce Wolfwer’s garden was still producing strawberries on Nov. 13. He says the plants have not stopped producing since early summer. Other locals report they have budding shrubs, roses blooming, and flowers that should be dormant adding colour to their gardens. The blooms are unusual for this time of year, but thanks to the unusually warm October and November we have experienced not entirely unexpected. However, winter showed itself last Tuesday when heavy rains throughout the area also brought snow flurries, even to lower elevations.
